the last few years i have really started enjoying the nfl power rankings by elliot harrison. for someone who is pretty interested in the game, but feels he still have a lot to learn (football – or ‘american football’ as it is called here in norway is pretty marginal, both by the number of people playing it and the people interested in in), it’s fun to see what an nfl analyst thinks of the teams week by week. i also think he’s a pretty good writer, so i recommend you also read the text when you’re checking out the new rankings each tuesday.
still, i wish there was some way to look at the history without browsing back and forward in the articles, so i made an attempt on the power rankings after 11 weeks of football. now, had i been a web genius i would have made this interactive. where you could hover over each line and each anchor point to see what happened exactly and to read the aforementioned text by mr harrison – directly in the same graphic. you would be able to see who they played and if they won or lost, who is that weeks power mover, skip forward in the graphic week by week (or push play) to see the development and maybe even isolate conferences, divisions, single teams, chosen teams, etc. it’s a bit beyond my capabilities, but a guy can dream…
anyway, this is a poster version of the power rankings in
week 12 (updated:) week 13. hope you like it.
